The Homo Sapien species is said to have come on to the scene around 200,000 years ago. The first recorded history is from around 5500 years ago. The pyramids were built around 4600 years ago, and as has been documented there is not consensus on exactly how the pyramids were build. Speculation includes the use of aliens and lost technologies! What seems to be agreed upon is that it took an immense amount of labor. The dictator of the time organized the labor in order to build the pyramids, which are still in relatively good shape all this time later. I wonder how much maintenance is involved in maintaining the pyramids. My dad does reconstruction and waterproofing and I don’t think he’s ever worked on a building more than 100 years old, maybe 150!
So, the question is: where were all the entrepreneurs? Humans like you and me existed for 190,000 years and the best they were able to do was develop some stone tools, then all of a sudden they built pyramids! In the same general time frame they started writing things down and religion began to develop. In 190,000 years, nothing of note, in the last 5,000 years: the building of the pyramids (the height of which wasn’t matched until the building of the Eiffel Tower in 1887), and however that happened lost, then to now where we have airplanes and satellite visits to Pluto, and the internet and smart phones.
Why did our grandparents piddle around so much for so long and who were the insightful people that all of the sudden changed this for everyone? In short, it seems pretty far-fetched to accept this secular story of human history of 190,000 years without a successful entrepreneur of note.
